If anyone can guess how many times my website has been rebooted, they’ll receive a free copy of my new CD. Actually I don’t even know to be honest…and now it’s back, so who cares?
This site went down a week ago for a few days. Though it’s back (it was saved thankfully), there are some technical things going on beyond what Mr. West is capable of fixing. Right now it’s booking season for 2018, and at some point we’ll get the website issues sorted out.
In the meantime two shows are on the horizon to close out January and wrap up the current tour. Small World Coffee, a hometown gig for the new year, is on 1/27. The transcontinental, multi-year tour then ends in Brooklyn with an extended set at Branded Saloon on 1/31 following the Wednesday Open Mic. What better way to celebrate getting back into music? Dust your instrument off and come down to take part!
Anyone know a kick-ass web designer?
The last couple of years music has taken a back seat to a few other things that needed my attention. It was clear at some point I’d turn back to recording and performing when time permitted. Since things are going well for me these days, this year is turning out to be a productive one.
This past summer some of my demoed songs were recorded at The Blasting Room in Fort Collins, CO. My producer, Andrew Berlin, booked session players who will help us wrap things up on a new LP by year’s end. The songs range from brand new tunes to those performed live for some time. Creative album titles are always a challenge, and a few other things (artwork, release date, etc) are yet to be determined. We’re not wasting time, just trying to get things right! Keep an eye out for an update before the year is over.
Recording this past summer was a great experience, as was my first show in Nevada and a return to California’s Central Coast. My last EP, Natural Philosophy was inspired by a trip there, now 7 years ago (Click here to load Natural Philosophy in the iTunes store). I’ll be up on stage doing my solo thing a few more times this year too, and this website is finally up and running, so check out the tour page. More touring is in the works for 2018.
Making music has always been a great joy. Thank you for visiting my website and supporting my creative endeavors, and I hope to have more news in the months ahead.
P.S. – This post was written as an email message for my mailing list subscribers who receive periodic updates about tour announcements and other news. Enter your email address into the ReverbNation widget on the side menu (upper right) to be added to the mailing list.
There’s a tiny button in the corner, but here’s a preview of my Instagram page (probably my most frequently updated social media app these days).
Hanging out in LA is great – go to the beach? catch a local band? have coffee with authors? – all chill and worth an extended trip.
Most who come here on vacation do a few touristy things, miss out on the cool stuff, and sometimes leave disappointed.
This trip to LA after Mt. Baldy’s Big Horn Music Collective has given me a chance to get back into LA life. Since I’m a gardener I happened to get a referral to do a little backyard project for someone. Check out my first, and certainly not last, LA garden project:
This happened because a friend of someone I met is throwing a party this weekend and wants to have a little fire pit area installed. She designed it, and the pictures show my progress throughout the day.
If you want to check out more gardening work I’ve done, please surf over to my Chasing the Harvest section and take a look at more projects there.
EddieWestMusic.com is back for the 4th, 6th, 9th or 12th time!
Ah yes, rejoice people of the internet, Eddie once again got his act together and published a web page. Was it that hard? Well, yeah, kind of. Eddie’s no web designer, he’s a musician. But this summer he cleared his schedule to begin a new music project. Stay tuned for more…
Oh yeah, and he lives in Los Angeles now! At least until he ends up on skid row and they ship him upstate to pick vegetables. There’s a song in there somewhere, and he’ll find it, honing his songwriting craft in the great City of Angels… writing in the third person… becoming the warm-hearted, traveling storyteller, playing harp and making loops, rambling on about life and nature and…well, you get the point.
Welcome back to EddieWestMusic.com
While I’m still working out the kinks, hopefully this will post something. Then I can find that other welcome message I wrote that disappeared somewhere.
